The suites are housed in the castle's beautifully restored Stables building and ooze historic charm. The lodges have stunning views to the sea and mountains, and are great for families and groups.

Armadale Castle is the former seat of the Macdonalds of Sleat. Guests staying at the lodges and apartments enjoy free entrance to the Castle Gardens and Museum (a Visit Scotland 5 Star attraction), as well as discounts in the shop and cafe. Sleat, 'the Garden of Skye', is a tranquil area but with excellent ferry connections to the mainland.

What is the capacity for Armadale Castle Lodges and Apartments?

There are two suites, each of which can host up to 4 people. There are 6 lodges, which host between 4 and 6 people each. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in all accommodation apart from one lodge, which is kept pet-free.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Isle of Skye area?

The Sleat Peninsula has some of Skye's loveliest scenery, with heather-clad hills, sandy beaches and ancient woodland. In addition to Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum, other visitor attractions include the Torobhaig Whisky Distillery, crafts shops and galleries. It is also home to music festivals and Scotland's Gaelic College, Sabhal Mor Ostaig, which often hosts events.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Gasta at Armadale Castle, also based in the Armadale Castle Stables building, serves delicious daytime snacks and lunches. Three evenings a week (Thurs – Sat) Gasta also offers tapas-style dining, with an emphasis on local produce, plus a bar with regular live music. If visiting in winter, please check for opening times. There is a wide variety of high quality food and drink nearby, including fine dining at the award-winning Kinloch Lodge, the atmospheric Isle Ornsay Hotel which has regular live music, the nearby Ardvasar Hotel for pub food, and cafes in Armadale Pier, Ardvasar and Camuscross (An Crubh). In Broadford (25 minutes' drive), guests can find a wide variety of quality eating and drinking establishments, including a pizzeria and fish restaurant.

Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum of the Isles is located in Armadale, 16 miles south of Broadford on the A851. It is easily reached from the mainland by taking the Skye Bridge, at Kyle of Lochalsh, or by ferry from Mallaig to Armadale (a 25-minute crossing).
