What makes a stay at Old Bridwell unique?
Old Bridwell was originally the home farm serving the Bridwell Park Estate. It retained the walled kitchen garden from the estate, with its cordons of apple trees and espaliers of pear and plum trees. The holiday cottages were converted from the farmhouse and barns, retaining names from their past, Spring, Bramley, Rosemary, and Pumphouse. Spring cottage was home to a natural spring, which even in the hottest driest of weathers continued to flow, leading to the name Brides Well, where it is claimed young brides would wash in the spring water to ensure fertility. The buildings were used for traditional cider production from the 2000 acre cider apple orchard estate which once barrelled would then be stored in Thatched Cottage
