Overview

The Widbrook name dates back to 1279 and refers to the brook that runs through the hotel. The original Widbrook Grange estate, which consisted of a large and impressive main building, with its comfy lounges and log fires, was constructed in the early 1900's. The stables and barns now house several bedrooms and an indoor pool. There are some bee bowls and extensive lawns that sweep down to the brook on both sides of the house, reflecting its agricultural history.

Where is The Kitchen at Widbrook Grange located?

Wibrook Grange is the ideal base to explore Bath, Longleat and Stonehenge, situated within 11 acres of rural Wiltshire, just outside the historical market town of Bradford on Avon.  You may be lucky enough to see deer walking through, doves flying around, rabbits, pheasant and squirrels happily feeding.

Went for a festive family evening meal and ticked all the boxes. The property was beautifully lit and decorated. Before dining we decided to go into the gin bar, very cool decor, lots of recycled objects, bar staff enthusiastic, sharing knowledge of the vast selection of gins on offer. Also found out that the owner had many other properties across the UK of a similar nature, definitely sounded like a few other gems to visit! Whilst enjoying the ambience we looked over the fabulous fresh/local menu, we were spoilt for choice! We went to our table and were then presented with some freshly made bread, lovely touch. Did not wait long for our food, all beautifully presented, and did not disappoint with the fresh ingredients. After our meal we decided to have coffee and further yummy drinks in the front lounge, a home from home feel, lovely real fire burning and soothing music. We had a wonderful time and thank all the staff for making us welcome.

Visited today with my mum for her birthday as a treat for afternoon tea. We actually only live 5 minutes down the road and drive by this hotel all the time but never actually visited! It is off the beaten track and although by a main road it is so quiet and tranquil with beautiful gardens and a lovely setting. The young girl who served us was a delight as were all the staff! The quality of the food was on par - so delicious! What makes this place unique is it's gin bar - over 50 types of gin and the staff know how it should be served - mine came with basil and ginger and my mums came with fennel! The whole interior is beautiful - rustic with roaring fires and a homely cottage feel. Didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms but as for setting, quality, afternoon tea and staff I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning!

Had a fantastic afternoon tea and glass of prosecco yesterday afternoon. Bought a voucher from Travelzoo for my mum for Xmas. The actual tea was probably the best we've ever had and we've sampled a few! Gorgeous fresh sandwiches and warm freshly baked scones plus some fancy small bits of cake and fresh strawberries Endless tea and all served up in a beautifully decorated setting. The staff are very friendly and I loved all the unusual lighting and bits and pieces of decor. Had a little tour of the place. They specialise in gin tasting events and I think I will definitely be back to try that plus a meal and stay at their lovely hotel. A very enjoyable experience.

I'm not usually one for writing on trip advisor but I have to share how wonderful the staff at Widbrook Grange were. Everyone who I came into contact with seemed natural in their approach where nothing seemed forced or laboured. We stayed for dinner at the restaurant where my wife enjoyed her vegetarian options as did I my sea bass. The bar holds an extensive range of gin (reasonably priced) along with some great choices of whiskey, rum and my personal favourite, beer. The room was cosy, the surroundings were delightful, the ambience relaxing. All in all the perfect base for anyone wishing to stay and explore Summerset. We will see you soon I'm sure.

We ate at The Kitchen as we were hotel guests. The menu was interesting with a good choice. The dining room is pleasant and the same can be said about the staff. It is one of those establishments that sources most of its food locally, which usually means excellent food. It was certainly a very enjoyable meal. If you are staying in Bradford on Avon it is worth the short drive to The Kitchen.

Taken here as a surprise Mothers Day treat for afternoon tea. I cant believe I haven't been here before as it's on the doorstep. I loved this place and the food we has was excellent. My girls know I'm a little fussy with sandwiches and rang ahead to change which was no problem. Had a gin after too. They brought a few out so ee could smell them. I cant wait to go back.

First visit to Widbrook Grange, taking advantage of a Travelzoo voucher for afternoon tea, which was superb value for money. All the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea itself was good. There was plenty to eat. We had a quick wander into the bar and restaurant, both of which looked good.

Although we didn't stay here we ate with work collegues who were. I have to say the food was stunning, I had the sea bass and it was very nice followed by a desert that was very well presented. They also have an extensive Gin list. I think next time I am down I will probably stay here as well as eat!

The location, room, welcome, were all better than expected. My wife had Guinae Fowl which i traded a fork with and i had the beef ribs and they were absolutely perfect. Well Played will certainly come back...a hope skip and a jump from Bath Down Town
