Overview
Tramshed, a former East End tram-generator building in the heart of Shoreditch, boasts the renowned Cock ‘n' Bull installation by Damien Hirst. The menu gives centre-stage to Swainson House chicken and Peter Hannan's beef, carved at the table and designed to share.
Within the walls of the Tramshed building there are three unique event spaces; Mark's Kitchen Library, HIX ART and the Mezzanine.
Against the backdrop of Hirst's cartoon ‘Beef and Chicken' the Mezzanine offers the best views in Tramshed for semi-private dining and events.
As the name would suggest Mark's Kitchen Library houses Mark's impressive personal cookbook collection, alongside artworks and curiosities. A unique event space nestled above the iconic Tramshed in Shoreditch, this secret hideaway can offer a private chef's table for 12 or a relaxed mini-dish and cocktail reception for 25.
HIX ART offers an ‘industrial-chic' event space below Tramshed. With regularly changing curated exhibitions by emerging artists, HIX ART provides a unique backdrop for formal meals, drinks receptions or DJs and dancing.

was a little dubious about the Tramshed which was booked by my daughter for her pre-wedding dinner for a party of 12 with Dad (me) footing the bill. Looked a bit trendy to me!
We drifted into the tall bustling airy room in two's and threes, a mixed bag of young and not so young carnivores, carbivores and veggies. Once assembled at our table our waiter approached and the joy of the evening started. He was stylish, knowledgeable, sensitive, intelligent, friendly but not overfamiliar and judged our party's needs to a T. Cocktails were offered and ordered. Just brilliant. Spanish style G&T's with juniper berries and cucumber. A Black Cow vodka martini, straight up with a twist, beautifully dry with the unpoured remainder of the miniature bottle bedded into a tumbler of crushed ice like a mini ice bucket. Nibbles were suggested and we left it to him to choose what we had. Beautifully done and so, so tasty.
Innovative starters (Gazspacho shooters, whipped broad beans, the best tasting smoked salmon, rich, thick dark and oily) followed, then beautiful, huge ribs of beef on and off the bone, cooked exactly as required, whole chickens; asparagus tarts and salads for the veggies. The meats were perfect and of the highest quality and tasted fantastic. The veggie stuff was made of the finest ingredients, beautifully cooked, assembled and dressed.
With the buzzing party atmosphere, a good natured and very sociable ambiance. magnums of excellent wine kept us jolly throughout and the evening went too quickly. The bill was entirely reasonable and our party broke up with genuine joy in our hearts.
Thanks to Hix for the style and setting, the kitchen team for brilliant cooking and to the front of house team that made our evening a faultless two hours of unalloyed pleasure.

Unexpectedly a friend of mine reserved a table at this place for us.
I'd never heard of it before but was basically told to expect chicken or steak. Not something you can go wrong with.
Upon entering the restaurant, it was lovely. Very clean, open space with a nice layout.
We were met by our waiter, Charlie. He was very friendly, and fit in well with his sense of humour and style.
Drinks were a little pricey, £6.50 for a Dorset Cider. But giving the location, it's kinda of expected.
Charlie assisted us with some recommendations for "snaxs" which were some pork scratchings and a large Yorkshire pudding with chicken liver patte. Both were delicious.
Main course varied but options were good. The food was all very tasty and service times were excellent.
Unfortunately one of the deserts which were ordered came with a small hair which friend spotted. This type of thing happens. The desert was removed from the bill.
All in all this is a really nice place to visit. The customers appeared to be groups of friends and there was a very good social vibe at the venue.
I'd go there again in a heart beat.

On a hot summer's evening we started with 3 starters for the four of us; the crab salad, the whipped broad beans and the smoked salmon. There could have be a little more flatbread for the broad beans - the salmon was was a delight. The portions were 'delicate' especially compared to the mains. Chateau steak, filet steak salad and burger followed. The Chateau steak was tender and juicy, the others very good but not surprising. Craft beers and ciders were good accompaniment. It was my daughter's birthday and she opted for the salted caramel fondue with marshmallows and doughnuts for 3-4 to share. When was the last time you had a homemade marshmallow? The donuts were almost like churros - so quite a weird and wonderful desert - but not one that you'd come back for every time. We'd all happily come back for another visit.

Went here for our date night with my boyfriend. The restaurant itself you can almost miss if you hadn't been there before it's well hidden. The venue's interior is impressive and the statement Damien Hurst is awesome in the middle of the place. The staff are super friendly and helpful - only to happy to explain anything on the menu to us. We had some starters to share and then the whole chicken for 2 which I highly recommend, it comes literally whole with feed included and they will chop it all up for you. Great place and would definitely recommend.

We went as a party of 13 and our waitress Jo was absolutely brilliant! She was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was outstanding. I placed a very late request for a birthday cake and the management were happy to help - I would recommend going here 100%!!!!!

Just the most amazing evening with friends, having a personal chef service by Mark Hix and Vivek Singh. Stunning food, gorgeous wines, fabulous atmosphere, and the best group of friends. Thanks to Nick, Lesley, Sandra & Gary, and all at the Tramshed. Just wow!

Loved the food, will definitely be returning. A very low key and relaxed environment with great meat dishes. Mouthwatering. The only advice would be don't go there if you are vegetarian. Meat lovers paradise

Table for 5 people. We shared the Shoreditch Strip. Food was great, the venue was great, the staff were wonderful - made my nephew's 18th birthday fun and memorable. Definitely recommend.
