The Quarterdeck Restaurant is located at The Nare Hotel, making the most of its stunning coastal location with glorious panoramic sea views on three sides. Executive Head Chef Richard James's simple culinary philosophy is to produce the best English cuisine from the freshest ingredients available, preferably from local suppliers. Shellfish is a speciality, with lobster from neighbouring Portloe on the menu every day and might be served as a starter with fennel, spinach and lemon dressing or prepared Thermidor style as a main. Carpaccio of venison with fresh figs, rocket and parmesan; or veal cutlet with caramelised shallots and watercress purée will delight more carnivorous diners. Lovers of tradition will be delighted by the selection of hors d'oeuvres served from the trolley.
