Sanquhar is a town in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland on the River Nith, it has a small post office said to be the oldest in the world built in 1712. The town has an interesting heritage trail with plaques highlighting points of interest. It was once well known for its weaving and hand knitting some of which survives today.
