Overview
The Curry Room at The Governor's offers Indian cuisine in relaxed and convivial surroundings. The restaurant, which can also be used for private social events and corporate dinners, is adorned with pictures and memorabilia of the island's past Governors.
The menu has been influenced by Mrs Tollman and Kevin Joseph, our Executive Head Chef at The Oyster Box in South Africa and is expertly prepared by Bronwyn Coetzee to give you a selection of the finest Indian cuisine recipes from around the world.
To make any occasion a little more special, why not enjoy the menu with a flight of wines which have been specially selected to complement the flavours and textures of your chosen dishes. Alternatively, traditional Indian Kingfisher beer is also served.

We ate here as we saw it when staying the night before. A small menu with a varied choice it was a set rice for three courses including dessert. Not cheap, but given the surroundings, you knew it would be extra special food. And it was...
I stated with chicken liver vindaloo, very spicy and perfect vindaloo flavour. My wife had veggie samosas, light and fluggy with salad and dressing. For mains I had the hot lamb curry, different to the vindaloo, rich and dark, and with mouthwatering fall-apart pieces of lamb. Perfect with rice and nan. My wife had the vegetable/halloumi curry but with a vndaloo sauce, which again was a wonderful flavour, mouthwatering and certainly not watered down in terms of heat. No rush at all, we were there two hours there by the time we'd finished our ice cream desserts, which rounded off the meal perfectly - a trio of flavours with a nutty crumb coating. A perfect meal to round off our weekend. Expensive, but the range of flavours and quality of the food made it worth it.

Visited the Curry Room at The Old Governors House in Guernsey!! It was my birthday and my husband booked this as a surprise!! Wonderful food, wine and attentive service from the maitre d ( Portuguese charming young chap ). Really a special place to eat and was also given a surprise birthday dessert to finish with. Lovely touch. Will visit again when next in Guernsey.

We ate here on our first day at the hotel. The food was very good and they are happy to make your curry as hot or mild as you may desire. We were fortunate enough to have a group of 4 "yuppies" eating in the same room and they provided a lot of amusement by their misuse of words - hilarious.

This is a great place to enjoy traditional Indian cuisine, it is a cosy restaurant, very comfortable and I would recommend it for a private party. The menu is quite concise but I think this is a good thing as there is enough variety and the quality is good across the board.

Went to The Curry Room at the OGH with my bro. Excellent curries and lovely wines to go with curry. The waiter knew the dishes and the wines that went with them. All round very good
