Overview

The Miller of Mansfield is a modern inn set in an 18th century coaching inn. A warm welcome awaits. Partake in fine wines, well looked after beer, refined food and a sumptuous night's sleep. This pub-restaurant with 13 individually styled rooms celebrates the heritage of its building alongside a very 21st century take on savouring delicious food in hospitable surroundings.

Where is The Miller of Mansfield located?

The Miller of Mansfield is at the heart of the riverside village of Goring on Thames on the border of South Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Perfectly placed for walking the Thames Path, exploring the Chilterns and the Ridgeway, it's a walker's paradise. With a train station in the village, it's just a 10 minute train ride from Reading, an hour from Paddington and 30 minutes from Oxford.

What cuisine is on offer at The Miller of Mansfield?

Nick Galer's menus use only the very best produce available. Much of that produce is sourced locally, including much veg and salad from just a couple of miles away up the hill. Nick was Heston Blumenthal's opening chef at The Crown in Bray, so the menu here reflects both an expert and intricate knowledge of the product and an enviable knack of extracting the most delicious of flavours from it. Refined dining at The Miller is designed to focus on flavour and savouring the joy of food.

What is the signature dish at The Miller of Mansfield?

Each customer would select a different dish as a reflection of Nick's signature. Some guests return again and again for home made venison sausage rolls. Others for special occasion a la carte suppers. In homage their backstory, artisan breads are served alongside home-churned butters.

What makes a meal at The Miller of Mansfield unique?

Refined dining at The Miller is the brainchild of Nick Galer and his training under the wing of Roux Scholar Matthew Tomkinson. Fabulous food in the relaxed atmosphere of this warm and welcoming pub makes for a delightful combination.

Reviews

Rachel and Lee provided us with wonderful service and truly memorable food. From the moment we walked into the lounge with its real log fire and eclectic furniture we felt at home. Out two teenage sons felt welcomed and had a huge range to choose from. The wines were top quality and I had a dessert sweet wine which made my head swim with pleasure. Although it wasn't the cheapest meal we've ever had, because we were staying at the (cheap but beautiful) youth hostel in neighbouring Streatley, we felt guilt free tucking into three courses here. If I were to revisit the area I would most certainly go to this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely evening,x
