Overview

Visit Hillbrush is a unique visitor centre where you can come to browse and purchase products in their homeware shop, enjoy the locally sourced food in their spacious and airy restaurant, grab a coffee from their master baristas, and learn about the history of brush-making and Hillbrush everywhere you turn in their exciting, first-of-its-kind brush-making museum.

Where is Visit Hillbrush - Restaurant located?

From the East From London/Basingstoke/M3, head west on A303. Do not take the first Mere exit you see; it will take you through the village. Continue on the A303 for about 1.5 miles around the Mere bypass and take the second Mere exit, signposted to Frome B3092/Gillingham B3095. Turn left at the bottom of the slip road towards Gillingham and Mere. Hillbrush will be on the left about ¾ mile down the road. From the West Head east on A303 and take the exit towards Frome/Gillingham/Mere/Zeals/B3092 and turn immediately right to continue to follow Signs for Gillingham/Mere. Turn right onto B3092 and Hillbrush will be on the left about 1 mile down the road.

Visit Hillbrush has a menu to satisfy all appetites, from delicious full English breakfast to comforting lunches. their skilled baristas produce expertly crafted coffee to accompany tempting locally sourced cakes and bakes that you can eat in or grab-and-go. They also offer gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes with a selection of local drinks. On Friday evenings, Visit Hillbrush are open till 11pm and there is something special and delicious to eat, themed on the 3rd Friday of every month and also with live music. What is the signature dish at Visit Hillbrush - Restaurant?

Their menu changes every 3 or 4 months in line with the current seasons and fresh ingredients available. However, there are a few dishes which are customer favourites and they don't change! You can choose from a variety of dishes to suit your taste, from Veal Saltimbocca (Pan-Fried Veal Escallop with Sage, Parma Ham and Mozzarella Served with Sautéed Potatoes and a Salad Garnish) to Dressed Crab with a Potato and Chive Salad served with a Salad Garnish. They have a varied selection of burgers and also a children friendly menu.

Their interactive museum is the first of its kind in the country, hosting a wide range of fascinating information about brush-making, the company's history and the local area. It offers colourful and tactile displays, a Kid's Corner to keep your little ones busy, 3D exhibits to entertain and inform, videos, and vintage brush-making machinery. Their shop has all manner of cleaning and grooming products from traditional bahia filled bucket brushes, to food-safe, colour-coded dustpan sets, and beautifully soft ostrich feather dusters alongside hundreds of other useful cleaning items for your home. Other Information

As well as the capability to hire out the Visitor Centre, Hillbrush offers meeting room facilities for private events or smaller meetings. Room hire can include refreshments and catering. Presentation Room This is a flexible meeting space which can accommodate large groups for company meetings. It can seat up to 75 people theatre style, and there is access to free WiFi and a large presentation screen.

Extremely tasty food, especially the fishcake! Absolutely delicious. All the staff are thoroughly helpful and welcoming I find the manager very accommodating.
