Overview

Contrast Brasserie is one of the finest restaurants in Inverness, with a reputation built on quality, value and fresh local produce. The restaurant enjoys a riverside setting, and there is free parking. Booking is recommended, as Contrast is very popular with both locals and visitors.

Where is Contrast Brasserie located?

Contrast is situated inside the Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel, which is just a stone's throw from Inverness city centre, and not far from the Eden Court Theatre, just across the river. In summer, outdoor seating means that the riverside setting can be enjoyed to the full.

What cuisine is on offer at Contrast Brasserie?

With influences from British, Scottish, French and Asian cuisines, the menu at Contrast Brasserie has a wide appeal, and the chefs use only the very best local produce. From hand-dived scallops and Shetland mussels to prime beef dry-aged on-site, Contrast is proud of its Scottish heritage, and the chefs here design simple dishes that let the key ingredients shine through. A comprehensive wine list supports the menu, along with 260 malt whiskies and almost 50 gins.

What is the signature dish at Contrast Brasserie?

The grass fed beef is aged in a Himalayan Salt dry ager on-site, to produce an exceptional flavour. Another firm favourite is the filet of Sutherland venison, served with a beetroot carpaccio and sloe gin jus? For dessert, the banana and rum tarte tatin is exquisite.

What makes a meal at Contrast Brasserie unique?

The restaurant has recently been listed in the North Coast 500, as one of the region's most romantic places. No doubt that's why Contrast has seen so many proposals, weddings and date nights over the years. The atmosphere here is warm and relaxed, with an effortless style. An a la carte menu is available, along with set lunch and pre-theatre menus. In terms of value, Lonely Planet has named Contrast its ‘best value restaurant in Inverness'.
