Where do I start The food here is some of the best I've eaten. The beautiful canopies(some sort of cracker) with lovely pure and trout moose! What a way to start a meal. We were then taken through to our table where a huge selection of bread appeared. Obviously all freshly baked and amazing! For starters, we had the scallops with cauliflower( perfectly cooked and amazingly presented) and the tomato salad which I can even explain how perfect it looked! For main, both my partner and I had the lamb. Perfectly cooked lamb loin with a 'crispy sweetbread' such a difference in flavour and went so well with the purees and veg which came with the dish. We just about had room to share a dessert and we were glad we did! The flavours of the cherry where a perfect way to end the meal on! What a lively night and can't wait to return!

We spent a Saturday evening here for a 40th birthday celebration and had the tasting menu. We have been here before and the meal met and, at times, surpassed our expectations. The atmosphere here is wonderful with such cheerful welcoming staff. The quality of the food was excellent, wonderful tastes and textures with courses and portion sizes very well balanced to make for an excellent dining experience. Flavours complemented each other and there was care given to the presentation of the food. The continued high quality of the Hotel and Restaurant ensures that we return. It is a treat but so worth it and such good value for money.

Excellent food in a beautiful location We returned to The Horn of Plenty for a meal after a few years absence, whilst staying locally. The location is stunning and the restaurant overlooks the beautiful garden and magnificent views for miles around. Our meal was the best of our week away - excellent quality and beautifully presented. Service was superb - friendly, attentive, helpful and professional. A key aspect of the service was the feeling given by the waiting team that they really wanted you to enjoy your evening (so often lacking elsewhere!). Such a shame that The Horn of Plenty is 200 miles from home!

I try to get to the Horn of Plenty once a year. It is a fabulous place that makes a couple of days away into a special event. All the rooms are well appointed, comfortable and private. The food is, to my palate, of Michelin quality, varied and genuinely locally sourced. The service is friendly, welcoming and discrete. The HoP is also ideally situated to explore the Devon/Cornwall border and, joy of joys, genuinely dog friendly not merely tolerant. I'm almost reluctant to recommend it in case it ceases to be a well kept secret!

The venue is beautiful, with lovely gardens and amazing views of the countryside around. Staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Food and presentation were superb. Attention to detail excellent. I also thought the lunch was very good value indeed. Highly recommended!
