Warm your back by the log fire and take in the local artwork on the walls - there are no rules regarding dress or children - the Restaurant Lounge offers a relaxed dining area to enjoy the splendid AA Rosette standard food, or when the sun shines the Garden Terrace is the perfect setting for a drink as the sun sets over the lovely garden. The bar offers a choice of 3 local ciders and some mighty fine real ale drawn straight from the barrel. How much better the pint tastes when it's made just a few miles up the road. On the wine list, they even feature a fabulous Devon white wine and a sparkling white from Cornwall.

North Devon boasts great quality food. The Fox and Hounds source their beef from Laytown Farm on Exmoor, where the renowned Devon Red Ruby and Aberdeen Angus cattle are raised by hand to provide exceptional quality and flavour. Lane End Farm in North Devon supplies the pork, chicken and duck for the restaurant. The farm is renowned for its outstanding animal welfare standards, in which the free-range poultry are allowed to mature naturally ensuring the best quality product.  Gloucester Old Spots and Large Whites have been bred specifically for their fat content ensuring the pork is succulent and fresh.

from M5 Exit Jnc 27 and take A361 towards Tiverton. Take A396 signposted Tiverton/Bickleigh until you reach A3072 to Crediton. Follow this until the junction of the A377 and head towards Barnstaple. After approx 14 miles you will pass Eggesford Station and the hotel is just after this on your left.
