What makes a stay at The Old Rectory unique?

Old Rectory House is probably the best kept secret in the county of Worcestershire. Standing on this site for several hundreds of years, the house has a wealth of historical connections. Old Rectory House is situated between the original Roman built Icknield Street along the far boundary of the property and the monastic carp lakes at the rear.

The Doomsday Book lists a building on this site in 1086, during which time Lady Godiva’s son was Lord of the manor. The Great Grandson of Sir Christopher Wren lived in the house for over forty years and made a number of alterations at that time. He completely modernised the original Elizabethan house in 1812 by adding a Georgian facade to the front of the building.

The house sits in the beautiful wooded gardens surrounded by many trees, shrubs and plants. Many of the larger trees including the stunning English oaks, the Portuguese laurels and the weeping ash were planted over 200 years ago.

In 2017, the business was purchased by its current owners who transformed it into the stunning venue it is today. Providing the perfect setting for all occasions including weddings, christenings, birthday parties, funeral receptions as well as conferences, business meetings and training sessions, Old Rectory House aims to create a ‘home from home’ feel for all guests.
