Overview

The Rose & Crown in Barnard Castle, Durham, is an 18th century coaching inn set on the village green in a picture postcard English village overlooking the old stocks and water pump, and next to the Saxon church (known to locals as The Cathedral of the Dale). Every bedroom is different - some with beams and antique furniture, some more contemporary in the Courtyard and a couple with a private sitting room. The delightful bar has an open fire, spindle back chairs and a cosy ambiance. Guests can enjoy the fabulous award winning food in either the bar or the oak panelled restaurant and relax in one of the hotels comfortable lounges.
