Mitcheldean is in the Forest of Dean Gloucestershire. It is a large village which dates back ti Saxon times and has many old timber buildings with narrow streets. Places of historic interest include the 18th century Town Hall, 17th century George Inn and the church of St Michael built in the 14th century. There are some excellent walks in the nearby forest and at the Wilderness Centre, which has some stunning views of the Severn Valley.
