The village of Sapperton in Gloucestershire is famous of its canal tunnel which was opened in 1789, where narrowboats were propelled through the tunnel by the occupants legging along the walls. Most of the houses in the village were built by the Bathurst family who live in the nearby Cirecncester Park a lovely wooded park in which the public are allowed to stroll.
