The island of North Uist is in the Outer Hebrides and is connected by causways to Benbecula. The island is fairly flat with peat bogs and lochs of either fresh or salt water. Lochmaddy a fishing port is the main settlement. There are some lovely beaches on the island as well as an RSPB nature reserve, as well as several site of archeological interest.
