National Museum of Flight
Whether you are keen to see how the jet set went about their business supersonically or prefer getting to grips with the finer mechanisms of an RAF Nimrod, the National Museum of Flight based at historic East Fortune Airfield, sates all your aerial needs. Climb on board Concorde's Alpha Alpha to see what it was like to live the high life at 30,000 feet.
This museum sets about telling the story of the history of flight and there is loads to see - the site has more than 50 complete aircraft. Explore a Twin Pioneer (short take-off and landing general purpose transport vehicle), see what life was like in a second world war parachute store and learn all about how aircraft actually fly, how they are built and the skills you need to fly them, all across three large galleries.
There's also the Aviator Café in which to flop once you have taken in this excellent attraction.
