Chesters Fort & Museum is the best-preserved Roman cavalry fort in Britain and allows visitors to explore officers' quarters and the well-preserved baths and steam room. Inside the museum there is a treasure trove of Roman items unearthed during the excavation of Hadrian's wall including the Clayton Collection of altars and sculptures.
