What is the history of Beaulieu to the present day?
Owned by the Montagu family for over 400 years, the Beaulieu Estate's history actually stretches back for more than 800 years, with Beaulieu Abbey established back in 1204, where it remained a working abbey until the dissolution of the monasteries. After that, the estate was sold off, to a direct descendant of the current owners. Palace House and Gardens were first opened to the public in 1952.
What is there to see and do at Beaulieu?
Find more than 250 motor vehicles in the National Motor Museum, discover the historic Palace House and Beaulieu Abbey, and have fun at The World of Top Gear. There are also stunning gardens to wander, and a monorail and vintage bus to travel around on. With a children's play area and a restaurant, it's the perfect day out.
