Opened in 1885 and now with more than 40 galleries for visitors to inspect, the museum is stuffed with fascinating objects, from fine art and jewellery to artefacts from ancient Greece and ethnographical finds. Birmingham's art gallery is most famous for its Pre-Raphaelite paintings which make up part of the largest public Pre-Raphaelite collection in the world.
