Brighton’s Top Ten Restaurants

by Andy Lynes

Brighton is Britain's best known seaside resort and by legend the country's favourite destination for a 'dirty weekend'. But the city's 8 million annual visitors have other things on their minds too like the historic Palace Pier and Royal Pavilion; shopping in boutique stores in the Lanes and North Laine and the city's lively bar and club scene. Tourists have always been well served by numerous good value restaurants and cafes but in recent years national chains and groups including Hotel du Vin, Jamie's Italian and most recently, hip London-based burger joint Meat Liquor have boosted the diversity of the dining scene. Now, a number of new independent openings has meant that the city can meet the demand for contemporary dining trends from small plates to American diner-style 'dude food'. Whatever your culinary kink, you'll find it in Brighton.
