Overview

The Hurtwood Hotel is an elegant 1920's boutique hotel with an emphasis on comfort and relaxation. A perfect retreat for business, pleasure or families alike, located in Peaslake; a charming English village within the Surrey Hills, yet only 28 miles from London, 18 miles from Gatwick Airport and a short drive from both Guildford and Dorking. The Hurtwood Hotel has 13 individually furnished bedrooms, providing the perfect place to rest your head at the end of a long day. The hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation but there is a separately operated pub and restaurant within the building. The pub has a cosy relaxed bar with an open fire, great wines and delicious food; or for a more formal evening, the restaurant runs seasonal tasting menus.

Everything about our stay was perfect, the staff are all totally charming, the room was the right temperature, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast choice is good, and my wife pronounced the cooked option very good. The selection of tea and coffee in the room is varied, and there's a point where you can get filtered water if you want, and more tea bags if you need them. You also have to love the mini-milk bottles :-) The hotel is right in the centre of Peaslake and if you've got a room at the front (we had Room 4) you get a nice view. The adjoining pub gets a lot of trade (and is a great place to eat), but as the hotel has it's own car park that's not a problem. We used it as a base to visit Guildford, surrounding villages and national trust properties, and Wisley RHS garden, all of which are within easy driving distance. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat ;-)

Really lovely country b&b attached to a very nice pub. Stayed there with friends for a birthday party we had in the nearby Cranleigh. The staff were super friendly arranging our early check in as requested. Beds are comfy, bathrooms look new and clean and the free tea and coffee with little milk bottles of fresh milk are a bonus. The breakfast was good and they were more than happy to cater for our vegan friend. Good spot to to use as a base to visit the local area, would recommend

Hurtwood Hotel is amazing, right in the middle of the Surrey countryside its perfect for a break away. Stayed here as had a wedding reception to go to near by and wouldn't of wished for a better stay. Room was spacey with everything we needed, tea, coffee, tv and had a kitchen area outside. There is an adjoining pub which serves great food, wish we had more of a chance to explore the area so will definitely be returning! Staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst our dog was having a procedure at Fitzpatrick Oncology in nearby Guildford. A really pleasant stay we had a lovely large room which also had a sofa in it. Good tea coffee etc in room with a coffee machine too. The fresh milk available whenever you need it is a great idea. Breakfast is nicely presented with good choice. The village is pleasant and quiet and the pub next door well worth a visit. Would stay again.

This hotel is in Peaslake a quiet village in the Surrey Hills which seems a million miles from busy Guildford. It is great value for money and exudes a calm and restful atmosphere. It has some nice quirky touches like a boot store near the door and a bicycle near the stairs which give it a homely feel. Fresh milk for making drinks in the bedroom is great. Good secure parking.

We have stayed here twice now and in different rooms. The beds are very comfy, the breakfast is wonderful, the service genuine and friendly. perfect location and very popular at weekends especially, so book ahead. Caroline and all the staff work hard to make this a 5 star property to visit and enjoy. Lots of thoughtful extras which we really appreciated.

We stayed here for a wedding held at the next door restaurant (also excellent) and were very impressed with the accommodation here. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom immaculate and the breakfast delicious. What more could we want?

Just back from one night at this lovely B & B. Very quiet little town. Accommodation was lovely. Staff very unfriendly though, seemed like everything was an effort for them but apart from that we all enjoyed our stay
