“Superb country house Hotel.” Reviewed 1 November 2016 My Daughter & Son in law were married here on 24th Oct 2016. This venue was also exclusive to the wedding party which was also a lovely touch. This place is set in stunningly beautiful grounds that, overlook Lake Windermere in the distance. The country house hotel is fantastic and so full of charming character. The guest accommodation is simply superb with, every facility I could think of catered for. The food was brilliant and the Bacon butties & pot of tea that were kindly sent up to our room at breakfast as my wife was a little poorly was fantastic. Location, setting and accommodation aside. It was the wonderful staff team that were the icing on the cake here at Broadoaks. Unbelievably friendly, made one & all feel so welcome, nothing too much trouble. They helped to make my daughters special day a really magical experience. All who were in the wedding party were of the same opinion, a great team. I would like to thank you so much for all that you did in making Katie's wedding just perfect. Will sing your praises for ever more. Many thanks again. Ian :+)

“Absolutely first class stay!” Everything about this place was amazing! We went for our 1st wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to see a card from the staff in our room to celebrate this, along with some chocolates. The room,Rowan, located in the coach house was beautiful. The furnishings were very tasteful and the huge whirlpool bath was a fun touch. The house itself is lovely, with lots of quirky features and really well decorated for Christmas. If you can,get the afternoon tea! There was so much food, all of it delicious, and the quirky 'te-cycled'crockery was a nice touch. The dinner was exceptional, with excellent portion sizes and the wine pairings, including after dinner port(which work out at the same price as a bottle of wine each)worked very well. The service was fantastic, unobtrusive but attentive and all staff gave the impression they actually cared about you having a good time. All in all,one of the best stays anywhere we have had,and easily surpassing what would naturally be it's rival,Holbeck Ghyll.

“5* experience through and through! ” We booked a black Friday deal which included, room, cream tea, 4 course meal and use of the spa at the Mcdonald hotel. We were given a range of rooms to choose from and we went for the couch house suite. The room was very spacious with a small seating area and the bath was amazing, Japanese jacuzzi bath. We had our own porch and seating area so felt very luxury. The food was amazing!! We both had the lamb for main and my fiancé said it was the best 3 course meal he had ever had! Breakfast was lovely too with lots of options. The staff are what makes this place and they all deliver service with a smile, nothing is too much trouble. You are given a card in your room which asks you to write 'who goes the extra mile' it was hard to pin point one person. I am quite hard to please and genuinely couldn't fault anything at all. There is usually something that isn't quite right but honestly it was all perfect. We will be back ? thank you for a wonderful stay Broadoaks!

“Husbands birthday weekend” We got married here in may, and I decided to bring my husband and our daughter back for his birthday. We stayed in the 'retreat' which was lovely. We arrived on the Sunday and got a photographer to come take some photos of our family, given that the setting is too stunning not to! We had afternoon tea which i think was my favourite - would definitely recommend you try this. We also had dinner which everyone agreed was very nice, I'm so glad i got to try it with out my wedding dress on - I believe I had one bite of each course on the day as my dress was so tight! We got a lovely warm welcome back from the staff at Broadoaks - see you again next year! Thank you to Tracey and all the staff for helping us to celebrate my husbands birthday and make it really special Thanks Tracey

“Amazing setting for a perfect wedding reception” We got married in April this year and had our wedding reception at Broadoaks and can not praise Little Jo and the team enough. They helped make the day amazing, and nothing was too much for them. From the first moment we met with Jo she organised everything, and the hotel staff throughout the day made sure everything was as we had planned. Darren, the restaurant manager, was on hand throughout the entire day and evening to make sure everything ran smoothly and we all had an unbelievably brilliant day. The food was fantastic, the whole reception perfect and the rooms so comfortable and luxurious we didn't want to leave. Thank you all so much for making our day so special - we will be back to visit with little baby Rigg on our anniversary

“Excellent 1 night stay, book it you won't regret it !!” Reviewed 2 weeks ago This is our second visit, having stayed here 2 years ago. The surroundings cannot be beat, lovely rooms, ours had sunken double whirlpool bath (pine room) Nothing is too much trouble for the staff , all deserve mention as they were fantastic. Word of warning do not put foam bath in the jacuzzi bath, as my wife found out , bubbles galore. The package also included the use of McDonald Spa in Bowles which is also great. Very convenient too, just pull up outside , give the concierge your keys and they will park it up on their car park for you. There is a £5 fee for this however when you consider the parking prices in the Lake District I considered this a bargain. All in all I would not hesitate to book again

“Sisters wedding day” This place is absolutely amazing. Staff were all so friendly and couldn't do more to help you. The place is so welcoming. The room we stayed in was just breathtaking from the comfy bed to the amazing bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Our little boy thought it was absolutely amazing and there was plenty of room for him to explore and sleep in his travel cot. He particularly enjoyed the squishy bean bags and watching cbeebies on the TV. As for a wedding venue it was oustanding I can't wait to see the photographs couldn't make a more perfect backdrop. The food was amazing from wedding bbq and icecream to lovely morning breakfast. We loved every moment of our stay and would love to visit in the future. I would happily recommend this lovely country house to anyone
