Bishopsgate House Hotel
54, Castle Street, Anglesey, Wrexham, LL58 8BB
18th Century Georgian Town House in the historic town of Beaumaris within a minutes walk to the sea front.
Winner of 'Best Hotel and Best Restaurant 2012' by the Anglesey Tourism Awards, this 18th Century Georgian Town House is believed to have been built as a Dower House for a local wealthy family. Now, fully restored and adapted for use as a small hotel offering single, twin and double bedrooms which are all ensuite. Bishopsgate House provides an ideal opportunity for visitors to relax, enjoying delicious freshly prepared food, elegant rooms and friendly hospitality.
Centrally located in the historic castle town of Beaumaris, just minutes from the sea, the hotel provides an ideal base from which to explore the many delights of Anglesey and Snowdonia.
In the Rosette Awarded restaurant all meals are freshly prepared using the best local produce wherever possible. Two menus provide a wide choice, including fresh local fish, succulent Salt Marsh Lamb and Rose beef from Lleyn Peninsular. A number of local people who regularly use the restaurant bear witness to the quality and value for money provided.
Dinner is served 7.00pm - 9.30pm every day. Sunday Lunch is served 12.30pm - 2.30pm. Fully licensed bar service is also available.
The residents' lounge, which retains its original wall panelling, provides a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy coffee and liqueurs and, perhaps a chat with other guests at the end of your day. Pets are welcome, but a small supplement is charged if dogs are staying in the room. Please book this as upgrade when booking your room.
A wide range of both indoor and outdor activities can be catered for in and around the town, including fishing, sailing, riding and golf, while the island's coastal paths and the nearby Snowdonia range establish the area as a walker's paradise. Beaumaris also boasts King Edward I's castle, whilst the Courthouse and Gaol add to the historical interest.

This is our first time to stay at the Bishopsgate House Hotel although we have eaten in the restaurant before and we would recommend this Hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice break and good food. Hazel the proprietor is great and the best host you could ask for. We will stay here again.

Superb service. Evening menu and food stunning! Cafetieres of decent coffee at breakfast would make a huge difference especially as high quality food is emphasised throughout but this is my only grumble! This is my second stay and I will certainly return!

Twin room booked - very well serviced, clean, and comfortable. As I had my elderly mother she was unable to take a shower as this would have involved stepping into a shower over bath. Due her mobility this would have been unsafe - the hotel should consider shower only facilities to accommodate all ages. Otherwise I enjoyed the hotel facilities and service

Had such a lovely time away and the hotel was the perfect choice. Lovely staff who would help with anything and the rooms were good with plenty of space (with the comfiest beds!!) The rooms could be updated but everywhere was clean and you had everything you needed. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

Overall we had a pleasant stay but maybe TV in the room could be bigger (screen was very small especially if eyesight isn't that good!) and ceilings were quite low in some parts of the room for someone who is 6ft or over, so it might be a good idea to warn potential guests of this before booking the room.

Wonderful hotel with superb, friendly service. Stayed in a deluxe room which was very large and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel

I always like this hotel. We dined at at the Cenin restaraunt further down the high st that night and the hotel brought our keys down to our party of ten dining there at 11pm. My breakfast at the bishopgate in the morn was top class and so was the service.

WE were very satisfied with the booking process and our stay in Beaumaris, especially a we had some initial personal difficulty wien booking. This was resolved easily within the booking process for which we were very grateful.

The room I had was I understand one of the smallest in the hotel. That said it was clean, well decorated and had all that I needed for my stay. The public rooms were well furnished and comfortable. The wow factor for me was the quality of customer service. It was warm and friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. The fact I've booked a room with them next week is surely the best recommendation.
