Ashmount Country House (Hotel)

Submit Review
This 19th century, 5-star country house is set in 3/4 acres of mature gardens with views out over Bronte country. The house has ample private parking with easy access to ground floor rooms for the less able. The hotel is not suitable for children under the age of 10. Ashmount Country House manages to sympathetically combine modern day amenities and many of the original features. Most of the furniture is antique and much of the interior of the house, including the stained glass windows, is original, which makes it ideal for romantic breaks as rooms have private patios and spa areas that can be enjoyed all year round. Bedrooms are truly indulgent and romantic with King size beds, whirlpool baths, walk-in rain showers and some with infrared saunas. Ashmount dates back to the 1870's and retains many original features - from high ornate ceilings and hand-painted windows, and is a perfect example of a Victorian country house. It was built for Dr Amos Ingham - physician to Charlotte and Patrick Bronte. Over the years, Ashmount Country House has been the residence for many doctors and local mill owners. A full English breakfast, which is included in the price, is served in the AA awarded restaurant which is open 6 nights per week. Evening meals are also available, at an additional charge, and are served between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, advance booking is advisable due to popular demand. Ashmount Country House has a fully licensed 'honesty' bar, allowing resident guests access to drink all day and night. The house is set in 3/4 acres of mature gardens, where guests can enjoy a refreshing drink on the patio whilst overlooking the picturesque valleys. Haworth Central Park is just a 5-minute walk away, which is ideal for a romantic stroll.

Our children booked us into this hotel for our wedding anniversary. Could not fault the stay. We were booked into Tranquillity @ No 21 which was over the road from the main hotel. Beautiful room with twin slipper baths and a large four poster bed. The short walk to Haworth main street was ideal. Very peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was amazing, the choice of waffles was nice for a change. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and kindly showed us other rooms that were vacant at the time for future...
