Airds Hotel & Restaurant

This small hotel sits in a lovely spot overlooking Loch Linnhe. The rooms are of variable size and position, but are very well appointed with lots of little extras, including a small decanter of whisky mac! The staff are very attentive and chatty, but do not hover at all. They always keep an eye open to see what is needed, even before you realise yourself what you need! The food is fantastic, and the attention to detail is superb. I mentioned that I prefer cheese to dessert, but don't eat unpasteurised cheese - so pasteurised was available each night. I also mentioned that I don't generally eat blue cheese, so when the nibbles arrived with pre-dinner drinks, this had been taken into account, and I was given one nibble minus the blue cheese which was usually a part of the dish - without my asking. Impressive. Often on leaving an expensive hotel, you can feel a little disappointed, feeling that you might have expected a bit more. Not here. I have left each time feeling glad to have stayed here, and looking forward to returning, and not resenting at all the cost, which is certainly not inconsiderable, but also not excessive and certainly worth it!

Lovely hotel with wonderful food and beautiful views. However, what sets this hotel apart from so many other wonderful places was the fabulous service. We spent three weeks touring Scotland and Ireland staying in exquisite hotels. This hotel had the best service of all. The service was seamless, like things just occurred. The staff are wonderful, but it was more than that. I can't imagine how much thought and effort that goes into every guest and their every need, but it definitely showed. The food was very good also. The scallops and pasta was over the top outstanding, as were many more of the choices. We also loved the breakfasts. It is great location to enjoy Oban, enjoy the countryside, and take a boat ride to Islay.

Throughout our stay, the attention to detail in all aspects of the hotel was superb. The courteous and friendly nature of the staff, the impeccable but un-intrusive service in the dining room and the relaxed atmosphere all contributed to making our visit truly memorable

From the perfect welcome to the equallly perfect 'au revoir' the Airds hotel team gave of their best. Nothing was too much trouble. Every whim was catered for. Meals were utter perfection enhanced by beautiful china and other appointments.

Airds is in a lovely location, well placed for visiting the local area. The hotel is very comfortable, the service excellent. The restaurant has lovely views and the food reflects its 3 AA rosettes

Very comfortable and welcoming,we truly felt like guests rather than visitors. The staff were attentive without being omnipresent. I have recommended the hotel to my real friends
