Overview

Iconic is an over-used word, but the St David's Hotel and Spa was designed to capture the attention of visitors arriving in Cardiff Bay and it succeeds. It's an arresting white and glass structure with a highly distinctive roof. Once inside, the visual magic continues with a lofty atrium towering the full height of the hotel. Both the atrium and all 142 rooms face across the Bay so it can seem that wherever you go, you're looking onto water. Picking up on this theme the bedrooms have small decked terraces so guests can enjoy the spectacle of Cardiff Bay day and night. Meanwhile downstairs, Tempus at Tides Bar and Grill offers a subtly 1920s take on the nautical theme. Alfresco dining overlooking the Bay is possible on Tides Terrace. The hotel's spa concept is based on Thalgo, who have created a range of treatments based on marine thalassotherapy cures for St David's. E'SPA and Chantecaille also provide skincare products. By offering such a range of major brands within the same spa, the hotel believes it can produce treatment programmes tailored to the individual needs of each guest.
