The Nare Hotel offers the comfort and elegance of a country house by the sea in a secluded and tranquil setting. It combines the highest standard of service, a pleasant relaxing atmosphere and stunning sea views. The Hotel stands alone in extensive grounds above Carne Beach surrounded by National Trust land, on the coastal path with wide sea views of Gerrans Bay and Nare Head (from which the hotel derives its name). Every bedroom has been individually decorated - most rooms are now very spacious and many have balconies or patios. The Dining Room with its magnificent sea views on three sides provides excellent table d'hôte and à la carte menus of traditional English fare. The Nare is Cornwall's highest rated hotel with AA 4 Red Stars and considered the most comfortable hotel in the West Country.

The Nare Hotel also has a Spa and Restaurant:

Carne Bay Spa (Spa Section)

The Quarterdeck Restaurant (Restaurant Section)

The Nare Hotel is part of the following Travel Ideas:

Top 10 Dog Friendly Hotels by Dinah Hatch

"Welcome at the hotel, in the garden and bedroom, dogs staying at The Nare, on Cornwall’s Roseland Peninsula, are treated just as well as guests. Whilst most opt for their own table d’hôte menu for dinner, there’s also an à la carte menu to choose from and the chef will happily cater for special canine dietary requirements. The options for walks and swims are endless, with the luxury country house hotel situated in National Trust land right next to the South West Coastal Path. Or simply let them scamper about on the sand; the hotel overlooks Carne Beach, where dogs can run freely during the winter, spring and autumn months although owners are asked to keep dogs on leads during the daytime in the summer. If your four-legged friend is more working dog than pampered pooch, however, there is a self-catering stay in the hotel’s kennels, for which there is no charge. A one-night stay costs from £16 per dog; working dogs stay for free."

Great places to stay along the South West Coast Path by Julie Vuong

"This country pile on the Portloe to Place leg of the path is a godsend for weary ramblers. Think rooms filled with inviting beds and comfy armchairs; dressers lined with decorative china, elegant rugs and patterned wallpaper. It’s got that home from home feel – with a touch of flair too. Slip into the stunning hot tub outside and take in the views overlooking Gerrans Bay on the Roseland Peninsula and feel those aches and pains disappear, or head to the spa, where a well-moisturised hand will ease any muscle tension in suitably serene surroundings."

Ten of the Best Family Retreats in Cornwall by Hayley Spurway

"Pack your bags for a Famous Five adventure: lashings of ginger beer, boat trips and beach picnics are on the agenda at this country house hotel by the sea. Patter down the garden path to the bucket-and-spade heaven that is Carne Beach, round-up every generation of the family for croquet on the lawn, or climb aboard the Cornish Crabber and explore the creeks of the River Fal under sail."

I had a blissful stay at the Nare, the sun shone the whole time we were there, the staff were fabulously attentive and we loved the fact all the rooms are so unique and different, adding immensely to its wonderful character!

Our room was very comfortable and wanted for nothing. It was clean, beautifully decorated and furnished. The sliding doors lead onto a small private terrace with direct access to the hotel's well maintained gardens above Carne beach. The small decanter of sherry was a nice touch.

Afternoon tea was served in the welcoming lounges. Supper in the evening was excellent with faultless service. On this basis, breakfast the next morning was, unsurprisingly, very good.

The other half had a jog along the SW Coast Path, while I contented myself with the outdoor hot tub and the indoor pool.

Finally, all the staff, and they were numerous, were charming, well drilled and always helpful. We shall visit again. Highly recommended.

The service was exceptional, with all the staff, genuinely wanting to help and make my stay as pleasant as possible. The food was abundant, tasty and well presented. The position is spectacular on a beautiful beach, surrounded by Cornish coastline. I also visited the spa and had a couple of treatments, another lovely experience. The hotel feels like a country house and made me feel like I had stepped off the mad merry-go-round of the outside world and into the arms of comfort, service, and tranquility you don't find very often in hotels. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to get back on the mad merry-go-round. I've booked to go back and I hope that The Nare Hotel never changes... I fell in love with it.

A unique place with loads of character. The staff are lead by an outstanding team who go out of their way to provide excellent service. This is not a modern palace, some aspects tend to the quirky side; it’s the people who run it that make it special and obviously the location is stunning.
