Overview

The Greenbank Hotel is perched on the sea wall overlooking the beautiful harbour in Falmouth, Cornwall. A hotel with a rich maritime history, The Greenbank boasts breath-taking views, a two AA-rosette award-winning restaurant, its own private quay and pontoons and a popular Cornish pub. Marrying luxury with unique character, The Greenbank is a relaxing and truly Cornish experience.

What makes a stay at The Greenbank Hotel unique?

The Greenbank Hotel is Falmouth's oldest hotel, dating back to 1640 when captains from The Packet Ships stayed between voyages. It is the only hotel in the south west with its own private pontoon, meaning pick-ups on the water right from their doorstep. Although it is the town's oldest hotel, everything inside oozes contemporary style, comfort and luxury. The Working Boat pub offers an additional dining option, established in 1876 and rebuilt in 2015. Enjoy delicious pub grub, Cornish brews and panoramic views across the picture-perfect harbour.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Greenbank Hotel?

The Greenbank Hotel has 61 rooms, including luxurious suites, deluxe rooms with harbour views, classic inland rooms, family rooms and even dog-friendly rooms. All feature an en-suite bathroom, hairdryers, complimentary tea and coffee, flat-screen TVs, free WiFi and 24 hour room service. The Greenbank also offer treatments in their spa room, 'The Green Room', a range of Cornish beers, wines, spirits and an extensive cocktail menu in the Water's Edge bar, and award-winning cuisine overlooking the harbour in the Water's Edge restaurant. If you want to arrive by boat, you can park up at the hotel's private pontoons, attached to The Working Boat.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Falmouth area?

Falmouth is a vibrant, seaside town in Cornwall and boasts beautiful beaches, quirky local shops, coastal walks and a range of excellent bars and restaurants. For a great family day out in Falmouth, try exploring Pendennis Castle, or taking a wander through Trebah or Glendurgan Gardens to admire Cornwall's natural beauty. The rest of Cornwall is your oyster if you want to branch out and discover what the unique county has to offer.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

The Greenbank Hotel offers fine-dining in the Water's Edge restaurant, headed up by Executive Chef Nick Hodges. A stay at the hotel also includes a delicious, hearty breakfast in the morning. Afternoon tea comes in all shapes and sizes at The Greenbank, from a classic selection to seasonal specials and even gentleman's afternoon tea. For some proper pub grub, head downstairs to The Working Boat, for hearty dishes freshly prepared with a side of harbour views.

Reviews

The Greenbank experience is a delightful pleasure. Reassuringly discreet and agreeable staff relax one instantly. Perfectly placed to enjoy Falmouth with local ferries providing efficient services to Fushing, St Mawes and Truro - superb walks nearby. We never tire of this. Dawn & Anthony
