Historic Houses in or near Mallaig

Mallaig is an important ferry and fishing port and also a terminus for the West Highland Railway from Fort William. Ferries run from here to the Isle of Sky and the small islands of Canna, Rum. Eigg and Muck. The scenery around Mallaig is fascinating with views of the sea and mountains. It is a good area for walking with many hiking trails. The train trip from Fort William to Mallaig passes through some stunning countryside and landscapes and is popular with tourists. The harbour is still used by a number of fishing boats and is famous for its Mallaig Kippers.
