Commissioned by Walter Blackie, a Glasgow book publisher, The Hill House is one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's finest domestic accomplishments. Almost everything at The Hill House, from the building itself, down to the textiles, furniture and fittings, was created either by Mackintosh himself, or by his wife, the artist, Margaret Macdonald.
