Overview

Once you enter Thrybergh Park you know you've arrived at a special place. Rolling fairways edged by mature trees line the long driveway which meanders through the course to the club house. The greenkeepers pride themselves on presenting a course to be proud of. It is varied, not too long, yet full of surprises satisfying the most discerning of golfers.

What style is the course at Rotherham Golf Club?

Designed by Open Champion Sandy Herd, it was later modified by fellow Scot and celebrated course architect, James Braid. Rolling tree-lined fairways and well-kept, slick running greens cared for in the most delightful surroundings are the memories you will take away with you. While the course has played host to some top professionals and aspiring amateurs it provides a fair and enjoyable test to golfers of all abilities. At 6,378 yards off the white tees it is not particularly long, though with a par of 70, it is certainly no push-over. “With its immaculate tree lined fairways and small greens, Rotherham Golf Club presents a pleasurable and true test of golf of all levels” Danny Willett Masters Champion 2016

What is the feature hole?

The feature hole is the par three 9th. From an elevated tee, players will be looking back towards the majestic clubhouse with a deep valley, brook and bunkers between them and their par.

What sort of course features can the player expect?

The course is defined by mature trees lining the fairways and has superb greens, with a great surface for holing those long and short puts. Subtle borrows on the greens also increase the challenge when players reach them.
