Summary
Held as one of the best inland courses in Scotland, Crieff Golf Club sits in stunning Perthshire countryside, and it offers something of a retreat as well as incredible views. With a history that goes back to 1891, Crieff is well-known for the maintenance of its grounds.
What style is the course at Crieff Golf Club?
Once the grounds of Ferntower House, Crieff sits on sloping parkland, and the course is both fair and challenging, for all levels of player. The conditions here are superb, and the reception very welcoming. The club has been voted one of the best UK golf courses by Golf World magazine.
What is the feature hole?
"Ferny Den", the fourteenth hole is 353 yards and par 4, and it is the prettiest hole on the course. Golfers will need to keep the drive to the right to give a clear second shot to a long green.
What sort of course features can the player expect?
The Ferntower is a long and challenging hole with stunning views over the Strathearn valley. Fairways are generally wide, the rough is cut fairly short to make searching for balls a little easier, and the course is suitable for players of all levels.
Other information
The 9-hole Dornock Course includes five of the original holes from Braid’s course. The 2nd and the 9th holes are the best. The Dornock Course offers excellent golf on a smaller scale than the Ferntower Course, and it’s popular with younger players, ladies, seniors and less experienced players. In the winter, the Dornock Course forms part of a composite 18-hole course.
