Overview

Ashburnham Golf Course is situated in Burry Port, a short drive from Llanelli and is the most esteemed fairway in Carmarthenshire, South Wales.

It is one of the best Championship Links courses in Britain and keeps up to be classed as one of the best 10 fairways in Wales. At present positioned as the third best course in Wales, Ashburnham hosted prestigious professional and amateur Championships, including two British PGA Championships and the 1976 Martini International Tournament.

Picked as a qualifying setting for the 2014 Seniors Open Championship, this occasion is one out of a long queue of significant occasions held here since the mid 1900s when Harry Vardon, the six time British Open Champion said "The course I like best in Wales is Ashburnham."

Other Information

Ashburnham, the demanding ocean side setting where the extraordinary welshman and winning Ryder Cup Captain, Dai Rees won the PGA title in 1959, has for quite some time been viewed as probably the best connection courses in Britain. For sure it won that rating from no less authority than the interminable Harry Vardon. He twice played the course, having fun hugely and was constrained to record soon thereafter that "The course I like best in Wales is Ashburnham"
