The large village of Whalley lies on the banks of the River Calder in Lancashire and is overlooked by a large wooded hill called Whalley Nab. The Whalley Arches is a well known landmark being a 48 span railway viaduct crossing the River Calder. Whalley has good transport links with regular trains to Manchester and Blackburn and buses to several other towns in the area.
