Haslemere dates back to at least 1221 and became an important market town in the Middle Ages. Surrounded by hills, heathland and woodland much of which is protected by the National Trust making this a popular spot for walkers. The High Street has a mix of independent and national chain stores, restaurants and pubs with the Old Town Hall standing at the southern end.
