Overview

Renishaw Hall and Gardens has been the home of the Sitwell family for nearly 400 years. Each generation has left their mark on the estate, from Sir Sitwell Sitwell's additions to the hall, including the Ballroom and Drawing Room, to Sir George Sitwell laying out the Italianate gardens. Renishaw makes a relaxing day out for all the family.

Where is Renishaw Hall located?

Renishaw Hall and Gardens is situated to the south east of Eckington village, off Staveley Lane. It is 3 miles west of junction 30 of the M1.

What style of garden is Renishaw Hall?

Visitors can find a variety of planting in the gardens, from formal Italianate gardens to woodland walks, sculpture and a fountain. Renishaw holds the National Collection of Yuccas, as well as a variety of rare and unusual plants. Dotted around are a range of sculptures from the 1700s to the present day. There is seasonal planting, so there's colour throughout the year.

What can guests enjoy at Renishaw Hall?

Take a walk around these relaxing gardens, and discover the array of colours and smells which change throughout the seasons. Treat oneself to something in the cafe, which serves a selection of hot and cold seasonal food, using local suppliers and products. From Sunday lunch to Renishaw afternoon tea, there's a menu to suit most people and most dietary requirements.

Other Information

Renishaw is also home to two shops, one selling home & garden items and one offering ladies clothing. There is also a vineyard on site which holds tastings and tours throughout the year - contact English Wine Project to find out more.
