Overview

Sitting in 50 acres of gardens and parkland, Great Fosters was designed by Gilbert jenkins and W H Romaine Walker. One of the very best Arts and Crafts gardens in Europe, Great Fosters has undergone recent restoration works by Kim Wilkie.

Where is Great Fosters located?

Great Fosters sits at the edge of Egham, in Surrey. It's just minutes from junction 13 or 11 of the M25 or the A30.

What style of garden is Great Fosters?

Features include statuary and topiary, with a knot garden, a wisteria-clad Japanese bridge, fountain and a magnificent sunken rose garden with lily pond.  There is a vast glasshouse and a productive kitchen garden, along with an apiary.  Four secret gardens are a delight to discover, and the grassed amphitheatre is a unique attraction, sitting at the end of a stunning lime avenue.  You can walk through woodland round the lake and spot the sculptures nestled in the gardens.

What can guests enjoy at Great Fosters?

Having explored the gardens at length, visitors can enjoy a spot of lunch, afternoon tea or dinner, out on the terrace, or in cooler weather, indoors in one of the cpsy louges or bar.
