Explore the Stunning Grounds at Fyvie Castle

Fyvie Castle was once a royal stronghold, one of a chain of fortresses throughout medieval Scotland. The five towers are traditionally associated with the five successive families that lived there. The oldest part dates from the 13th century, and an air of mystery is created by the ghosts and legends associated with it. A rich portrait collection includes works by Batoni, Raeburn, Romney, Gainsborough, Opie and Hoppner. Also a fine collection of furniture, arms and armour, and 17th century tapestries. Save time for a leisurely stroll around Fyvie’s grounds and lochside, landscaped in the early 19th century. The 18th-century walled garden has recently been redeveloped as a garden of Scottish fruits and vegetables, and this, along with the American Garden and other parkland areas, is open all year. You can also enjoy the restored racquets court and bowling alley, as well as the ice house, bird hide and restored earth closet.

Fyvie Castle also has a Historic House:
