Discover the charming Gunby Hall and Gardens

Gunby Hall and Gardens at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds boasts 100 acres of parkland laid out in the style of Capability Brown. The estate once used to stretch as far as the coast at Skegness until land was sold to the earl of Scarborough. There’s still plenty to enjoy here – grounds laid out in an informal style with Victorian walled and kitchen gardens, arboretum and carp pond. The story goes that the pond is haunted by the servant who was murdered by Sir William Massingberd who discovered he was about to run off with his daughter (or wife, depending on which story you believe). There’s much planting to see here – dozens of types of apple and pear tree and 50 types of roses blossom in early summer.
