A magnificent 12th Century former Cistercian monastery, Forde Abbey now ranks as one of the top ten gardens in England. Built beside the banks of the River Axe in the rolling Dorset hills, this outstanding stately home is surrounded by 30 acres of world famous gardens. Not to be missed are the spring bulbs, a vast border of late summer perennials, bog garden, large rockery, arboretum, herbaceous borders, kitchen garden, and the Centenary Fountain, the highest powered fountain in England.

Opening Times: All year, Daily, 10:00-16:30.
Admission: Gardens only: Adult £10, Child (under 15) Free. Groups (10+) phone 01460 221290. RHS Member Free (Fridays all year except for special events).
Child Friendly:  Children of all ages welcome (Child under 15 Free when accompanied by an adult)
Dog Friendly: Dogs Permitted (Dogs on Leads)
Location: Follow the brown tourist signs from the A30 Chard to Crewkerne, A358 Chard to Axminster or the B3162 from Broadwindsor.
