The Londoners have been looking for refuge in these beautiful grounds for years, and it's not hard to see why. Known as the birthplace of the English Landscape Movement, the beautiful Palladian-style Roman villa was influenced by the Grand Tour of Italy by the Earl of Burlington, who wanted the grounds to look like a landscape painting with a majestic view. In subsequent years, the owner opted for a freer, more lustrous, less formal style where curves and clusters replaced straight lines and linear designs.
