Castle Hill Gardens

50 acres of historic parkland set against the breath-taking 18th century Palladian Mansion house built as the Earl of Fortescue's family home, with temples, follies and stunning vistas. The formal terraces in front of the house allow your eye to capture the Triumphal Arch and Holwell Temple in the distance.

Where is Castle Hill Gardens located?

Castle Hill is in the village of Filleigh near South Molton, in North Devon. St Paul's Church is nearby which is particularly beautiful.

What style of garden is Castle Hill Gardens?

The gardens feature the Millennium Garden designed by Xa Tollemache with its striking water feature and wonderful display of herbaceous planting, a Walled Garden and Woodland Garden often a riot of colour with 176 different magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, shrubs and trees.

What can guests enjoy at Castle Hill Gardens?

The gardens are open all year except Saturdays. The tearoom is open from April-October 11am-5pm serving light lunches and cream teas. During the winter months, November-March the gardens are open from 11am-4pm. In the summer months outdoor theatres are performed, see website for detail.
