Visited Ardmaddy Castle Garden this week on a rather dull and damp day, we discovered a beautiful walled garden full of magnificent flowers in bloom and a very well stocked large vegetable patch. There is also a lovely tranquil water garden and woodland walk. Our day was truly brightened and we will definitely visit again. HelenH

Once you get to Oban, you need to take the A816 south toward Lochgilphead and Campbeltown. About eight miles out of town there is a right turn on to the B844 for Easdale, Seil and Luing. Follow this road for about 5 miles. The road then takes a sharp right over a little bridge, but the Ardmaddy road goes straight on – there is a yellow sign that says “Garden Open” – take this smaller road. After about a mile, the road takes a sharp right bend through the Estate gates. Keep following the road down the hill – at the bottom of the hill there is a right turn towards the Castle. Take this and then follow the road round the base of the castle until you come to the car park.
