Overview

The impressive eighteenth century Pentewan stone house and parkland that is Antony in Torpoint, Cornwall, might be commonplace to any individual who has seen Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland – the movie was set right here. Go for a walk along the Yew Walk for exquisite views, lose all sense of direction in the mind boggling labyrinth and go sit and contemplate the scene from the radiant dovecote. The grounds outskirt the Lynher estuary and are arranged by Repton. They offer up a conventional nursery with perfect topiary, a bunch garden, the National Collection of Day-lillies and some exquisite current figures. The Woodland Garden merits a visit without anyone else, overflowing with rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and camellias.

Other Information

Soak up the atmosphere in the colonnade courtyard tea-room. It's the perfect place for a quiet moment of reflection. Or maybe you're ready to sit down with friends and family over a scone and pot of steaming tea.
