CANCELLED 19/03/2020
Coronavirus: In light of the latest government advice, we have decided to close all of our galleries, the mill and Welwyn Roman Baths to the public until further notice.
We have also suspended our cream tea service from this Sunday and have cancelled our events until at least May 31st. This includes all toddler sessions, Easter and May holiday activities, workshops and annual events.
We are currently taking flour pre-orders for collection at a later date but, due to high demand, we cannot guarantee collection times. We are limiting each customer to 12kg each, in any combination.
Please see our website https://www.millgreenmuseum.co.uk/ or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/millgreenmillandmuseum/ for updates.

In our new exhibition, Welwyn Garden City: By Wisdom and Design, we will be looking at how Ebenezer Howard's vision was put into practice by the founders of the Second Garden City Company and in particular the lead architect Louis de Soisson. It is a chance to see objects from Welwyn Hatfield's museum collection as well as some loaned original material from Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies (HALS) and the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation relating to the foundation and early years of Welwyn Garden City.
Howard's Vision
Howard wanted to create a place which embodied the best elements of town living, without the poor conditions that the industrial revolution had produced, and combine them with the benefits of country living. A marriage of town and country: a Garden City.
