We are delighted to welcome artist Jerry Scott to our exhibition space in our tearoom, here at Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens in May 2024. His paintings, collages and prints  aspire to be a feast for the eye: a distillation of all the fulsome sensations and emotions which I experience in response to the colours and textures of the world about me.

Admission to the tearoom and exhibition is free during regular opening hours 1pm to 5pm on selected dates. The art displayed will be available to purchase.

Join garden owner, Vanessa Cook, in the tearoom and courtyard garden where you can enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles and learn about the development and ethos of the garden. This will be followed by an opportunity for you to have a leisurely wander around the garden, enjoying the many different areas of the garden.

This is the chance to have a relaxed summer evening in this beautiful, peaceful garden.

For our July art exhibition we are delighted that Linda Taylor’s is returning to exhibit her beautiful paintings of birds on feathers, here in the tearoom at Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens. Her exquisite work is always popular with our visitors.

Linda’s inspiration comes from nature and walking in landscapes world wide. She has been experimenting with painting on real feathers, having seen the indigenous South American people painting on dream catchers. Her feather paintings capture the imagination, linking the art to the spirit of the birds.

The art exhibitions are located in the tea room and are open to the public during regular garden opening times. Admission to the tea room and art exhibitions are free. The works of art will be available to purchase.

Play detective for the night and figure out “Whodunnit?” during an evening of twists, turns and intrigue at our ever-popular Murder Mystery event!

Arrive from 7pm to begin an evening of mystery and enigma set in the crime underworld of notorious Birmingham street gang, the Peaky Blinders. Pay close attention those around you and follow the clues to solve the murder mystery whilst enjoying twists, turns and laughs along the way.

With seven years at Gidleigh Park as a Sommelier and Restaurant Manager, Edouard now dedicates his time to advising and coaching aspiring sommeliers across the globe.

We are delighted that Leeds based artist Rachel McNaughton will be kicking off our 2024 series of art exhibitions with her watercolours which are always well received by our visitors.

Her central focus is flowers and over the years she has moved away from botanical accuracy to a more expressive style.

The exhibition space is open during the regular garden opening times. It is free to visit the exhibition and tearoom, but there is a charge if you wish to explore the garden.

Discover mysterious Dartmoor tales as we explore the beautiful village of Gidleigh on Dartmoor. Walking directly from the hotel, our circular route passes the picturesque church and ruined castle, along an ancient holloway, picturesque country lanes, and lush woodlands.

Following your moderate exploration, experience an exquisite three-course lunch created by Executive Head Chef, Chris Eden.

If you struggle to find plants that thrive in those shady places in the garden, this course is for you. Join garden-owner Vanessa Cook as she shares her vast experience in growing plants in the shade. She will provide plenty of hints and tips for growing plants in the shade, including how to improve the soil and chossing the right plant.

She will be using the many shade-loving plants that grow here at Stillingfleet Lodge as illustration and inspiration.

Taking place from 6pm to 8pm, the event is your ideal opportunity to view our stunning, contemporary facilities as you plan your big day.

Our flagship Grosvenor Suite will be setup for both a civil ceremony and wedding breakfast, whilst you’ll also have the chance to meet a selection of specially selected exhibitors who provide a host of services in the wedding industry including:

Ticket is valid at The Slaughters Manor House for the listed event only. On the day of the event please bring your ticket or email with you and present to staff on arrival. Tickets can be cancelled up to 7 days before the event, after which they are non-refundable and non-transferable.
