Wellington Country Park

Across 350 acres of parkland, Wellington Country Park presents the biggest outdoor play opportunities in Berkshire. It has an absolute mass of things to do for kids up to about the age of eight. With an adventure playground, toddler area, sandpits, slides, a miniature railway (additional fee applies), animal farm and petting barn, enchanted forest, water play area and 12-hole mini golf course on site, there should easily be enough to keep the little ones busy all day. There is also a dinosaur trail in the parkland too, with more than 30 dinosaur models to spot. Four nature trails snake through the woodlands, introducing children to a host of wildlife including Red and Fallow deer herds. The gentle Bird Spotter Trail leads off through coppiced birches and is often flooded with butterflies while the Antler Trail meanders through a deciduous tree area with large Scots pines surrounded by lovely forest flowers in the spring and dotted with half-squirrel-nibbled cones. Wellington is closed from early November to February.
