Torr Cottage is a boutique hotel with a difference, indulge in the ambience and luxury of this small and special Award Winning 5-star accommodation offering Bed and Breakfast. Beautiful en-suite rooms, each with logfire, private garden and terraces. At the streamside, there is a hidden valley and in the summer guests have use of the heated pool. Set in 28 acres of land and close to Eden Project, Dartmoor, coasts and gardens.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Tor Cottage?

Tor Cottage has a total of three en-suite bedrooms, all of which are situated a few steps away from the main building, in the gardens. Every room features a log fire and private terrace or garden. Craftsman's Garden and Craftman's Deco ensuites were created in the original craftsman's workshop, which was converted into two luxury suites located beside the stream. The Craftsman's Garden has a private garden and terrace. Deco has a private conservatory and terrace. The room in the garden is transformed from an ancient carthouse and faces the stream and the surrounding valley. It's elegant and spacious.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Lifton area?

Devon is a lovely county of contrasts, the magnificence of Dartmoor and Exmoor, the soft waterfalls and lush green of the untouched landscape. Many of the shores are classified by The National trust as areas of outstanding beauty. The cliffs, the bays, the coves and small fishing villages are majestic.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Both of the rooms are spacious and include a full-size fridge, crockery,  cutlery, tea and coffee making facilities. The 3 Garden Rooms have recently been improved and now have a microwave with a grill. The B&B does not serve dinner but there are excellent places to eat all within easy driving distance or a short taxi drive.

Adjacent to Dartmoor and central for touring Devon and Cornwall. From M5 at Exeter take A30(Okehampton direction). At SOURTON CROSS leave A30 on slip road, signposted A386 TAVISTOCK.At bottom of slip road, turn right and then immediately left (before underpass), signposted BRIDESTOWE & LEWDOWN. Remain on that road, following LEWDOWN signs for 6 miles. When you reach crossroads signposted, CHILLATON (4 miles) turn left. In Chillaton In the Village Square keep Pub on your left, drive up hill towards TAVISTOCK. 300 metres on your right you will see a track signposted “Bridlepath, No Public Vehicular Access”. Drive down that lane. Tor Cottage is at the end of the half mile long tree lined track. Pass two dwellings and drive ways on your right and then one dwelling on your left.
